Former triple j unearthed winner Ali Barter will take to the stage for week one of Summer Sundays at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens this January.
The Melbourne-based singer/songwriter will be joined by Ballarat band Meraki Minds and two yet-to-be-announced acts on Sunday 5 January from 3.30pm until 7.30pm.
Ali will perform as part of her Australian tour to celebrate the release of her upcoming second album, Hello, I’m Doing My Best.
The grunge pop performer has toured extensively, completing two sold-out tours, countless festival engagements and supported The Rubens, The War On Drugs, The Jezabels, Stevie Nicks, The Preatures, Chrissie Hynde and Liz Phair.
Meraki Minds is a five-piece indie pop band renowned for its electric stage presence.
Formed during its high school years in Ballarat, the band is inspired by some of Australia’s most influential contemporary groups such as The Jungle Giants, Saskwatch, Cub Sport and Ocean Alley.
“The calibre of artists performing at the 2020 event is testament to how highly regarded our Summer Sundays event is and why it continues to grow each year,” City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Ben Taylor said.
Presented by the City of Ballarat and supported by Blue Pyrenees Estate Winery and Kilderkin Distillery, the free outdoor concert series will continue on 12 January and 19 January with a different line-up of musical talent and food vendors each week.
