SAORI Weaving Workshop

Join Prue Simmons – one of only three accredited SAORI teachers in Australia – as you find your Zen and immerse yourself in the beautiful freestyle creativity of Japanese SAORI weaving. In this four-hour workshop, you’ll have the chance to create a gorgeous, unique scarf to take home using materials including local llama fleece and vibrant yarns. Learn a range of SAORI weaving techniques, understand the philosophy and history of SAORI and enjoy a longer time at the loom to experiment with colour, yarns, technique and textured creativity.

Attending a SAORI Workshop is lots of fun! The easy, relaxed, freestyle nature of the weaving means that you don’t need any experience to start SAORI weaving. All the looms are set up and ready for you and all the equipment and materials are provided. All you need is the enthusiasm to explore playing with colours and textures to make a beautiful woven piece to take home and cherish.
