Japanese Bengala Eco-Dye and Shibori Workshop

Delve into the beauty of Bengala earth dyes in this fun, hands-on workshop at Prue Simmons’ Dyeing To Weave Studio in Clunes. These gorgeous eco-dyes are derived from the earth, are non-toxic and easy to use with cold water. Learn about the history of Bengala dye in Japan and its many uses while you create a variety of patterns using traditional shibori and itajime dyeing techniques and make a number of pieces for you to take home and cherish.

More Information

All materials will be provided, however participants are welcome to bring an additional white item to dye in any material (T-shirt, scarf, pillowcase) if desired. Please ensure items have been washed thoroughly (without softener) before the workshop. Also – please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dye on!
