Ballarat events, hotel and restaurant
Events
Though the discovery of gold led to the development of Ballarat more than a century ago, some of the uncertainty and mystique continues to live in the products and people of the area even today. Just like gold was found by the gold diggers in the soil of the Ballarat area, even today, the soil remains rich and has a character different from others. Visitors to Ballarat will find that there is much which they can discover on a trip to the area, which is not easily visible elsewhere.
European honeybees and beehives
The honeybee is responsible for making honey used extensively in many recipes. The staff of Backyard Beekeeping, Scott Denno and Amanda Collins will help visitors explore how a live hive of honeybee’s functions in detail. In this exclusive experience, the visitor will be able to have a look, smell the pleasant aromas and hear the bees of the hive at work, as Scott and Amanda explain how the colony of bees is working. They will provide detailed information on the fascinating world of European Honeybees, the most hardworking insects in the world. The visitors will also taste some of the honey produced by the bees.
Hotels
One of the most famous heritage buildings in Ballarat has been reopened to the public since a new luxury hotel with a restaurant is located in it. The hotel is owned by the hospitality expert Drew Harry, and one of the most powerful couples in Ballarat, Georgia and Simon Coghlan. The boutique hotel which is located in the Western Highlands of Victoria has beautiful interiors and view, promises visitors luxurious and high-quality service.
Gorghi Coghlan, the co-owner of the hotel said that they realized that most travellers are looking for more than only a bed for sleeping when they book a room at the hotel. They also want excellent service by competent staff who will pay attention to the small details. The staff have relaxed manners, and the beds are comfortable and clean for an enjoyable experience. Gorghi said that people are looking for a break from their daily hectic routine when they book a hotel room, a time to relax and rejuvenate. The Provincial Hotel team has worked hard to create a friendly environment, where every wish of their guests will be fulfilled. No effort will be spared to fulfil all the desires of their guests.
The new Provincial Hotel is inspired by the most beautiful hotels in Australia and New York. It has 23 suites, with each suite having a unique style combining special custom made, antique and modern decor items. With the help of her interior design team, Gorgi spent a lot of time and money, to source beautiful artefacts and fabrics to create a stylish look for the hotel, where guests could relax and enjoy. The restaurant attached to the hotel is named Lola after one of the most influential characters in the goldfields of Ballarat. It is open for dinner, lunch and breakfast.
Lola restaurant’s European influenced menu varies according to the season and includes locally sourced products.
